Community Art Education
For the past year and a half, Art for Future has been bringing art education into the community. Through ongoing classes integrated into programs at Stepping Stone in Belmont, The Joy Culture Foundation in Palo Alto, and other community organizations, we introduce children to art and intangible cultural heritage from around the world.
These classes combine hands-on artmaking with opportunities to learn about the traditions, knowledge, and skills passed down through generations. Children explore creative materials, express their own ideas, and discover how art connects people across cultures. By bringing these experiences into familiar community spaces, we make art and cultural learning part of children’s everyday lives.
From November 2025 to January 2026, Art for Future’s Program Director, Xiaoman Luo, taught a course on the traditional painting of Prince Kung’s Palace. The children were invited to exhibit their artwork at Prince Kung’s Palace Museum, offering young participants a meaningful opportunity to share their creativity and connect with the cultural heritage they had explored in class.
